This book covers everything from the lakes and surrounding countryside to the birth, architecture and growth of a small town into one of America's most loved vacation spots. The postcard images are breathtaking and provide a historical timeline of Traverse City.

Traverse City is brought to life by the vivid images of the past on postcards. Together, they tell a story about the growth and prosperity of a midwestern town. Using rare and never-before published images and this work takes the reader back in time, experiencing life through vintage postcards. Traverse City also serves as a visual tour of citys history, exploring the communitys agricultural, industrial, and social origins. Using his journalism background, local author Charles Wright, uncovers the lost and untold stories of the people and places that have made Traverse City a distinctive place of culture and character.
